A huge part of the Alaskan cruise trip was the cruise ship! I chose Quantum of the Seas because I knew there was plenty to do on the ship during our sea days and when not in the port.
Here are some of the fun things we did: roller skating (Savannah), rock climbing, laser tag, ping pong, x-box, trivia, towel animal making, swimming (indoors, outdoors, mini wave pool, hot tubs), North Star (extended arm above the deck of the ship), IFly sky diving (a highlight for sure), walking the ship decks, looking out viewing decks, hanging out in Two70 (multi purpose space with lots of lounge seats and huge windows), kids club, escape room, bumper cars, hunting for ducks, handing out Carmel postcards to staterooms on our list.
Another huge element was the food. Every morning we'd eat in the Windjammer Marketplace buffet. For lunch, we'd eat there also or we'd pack snacks and a sandwich from the ship as a picnic. Dinner was the highlight in the Main Dining Room. We were in the American Icon themed room. We had two waiters, Heera and Nicolas. They served us every night. We ate foods like: escargot, lobster, shrimp, baked alaska, steak, etc. Every night was a different themed menu. It was so much food, but the kids wanted to eat there every night. We also ate soft serve, pizza, and snacks from other spots onboard. I don't think I was every hungry.

the rope holding the ship to the dock was right outside our window. They use a fork lift to get it off.

I was surprised how close to the waves we were. We were on floor 3.
we could often see whale spouts on the ocean if we looked long enough

we had two rooms about 20 doors apart down this hallway
bionic bar - the robots make the drinks! They get a cup, then mix the ingredients and ice in their cup and then pour it into the cup. You scan your card and it slides out to you. While they make your drink, your name is on a screen with what you ordered. You can also see all sorts of stats about he most popular drinks, the ages of the people who ordered them, etc. It was really fun to watch.
Savannah and Jonas ordered the lobster on the special night when it was available. Neither liked it (but both liked the butter sauce) but I'm glad they tried it while it was free!
On the last sea day, we took Jonas and Levi to the kids club (despite some unnecessary protests) while Camden and Savannah walked around together getting snacks. We explored the adults only Solarium which was so nice. It even had this little outdoor porch with great views.
The last sea day and beautiful sunny weather. Even though it wasn't even 60 degrees it felt so warm and lots of kids swam outside. Jonas found a group of friends in the wave pool.
