Cruise Vacation - Fort Lauderdale (day 7)

Originally we were supposed to leave the ship at 7:15am, but I got our departure moved back to 9am (the latest slot) so we could enjoy breakfast in the Windjammer one last time. After that, we were off the ship and onto our final night of vacation in Fort Lauderdale. We stayed at the Embassy Suites on Deerfield Beach so we could enjoy the beach one last time.

The kids loved jumping in the waves and looking for creatures on the beach and in the waves. Then we spent some time back in the pool to end our final swimming experience for awhile since swimming season is over back at home. We ate dinner back in our room and went to bed for our final vacation night.

The next morning, we had a bit of trouble getting the rental car returned (it was our first time using Turo instead of rental car company and parking at Fort Lauderdale airport was very difficult) which meant I checked our luggage, took all the kids through security, and prepared to board the plane by myself. Luckily, Chris managed to join us right before boarding and we were able to travel home together. Whew!

We had a fun vacation that included many relaxing aspects as well as plenty of new experiences for all of us. And, I finally got some beach time that I had been waiting for since 2019! So glad we decided to go and hopefully we'll be back to sun, sand, and surf sometime soon(ish)!

Cruise Vacation - Perfect Day at Coco Cay (day 6)

Our second port-of-call was Royal Carribean's private island, Perfect Day at Coco Cay. This place was seriously the best and it was an absolute favorite for all of us!

The day started with breakfast in the Windjammer (as usual) with a fantastic view of the island out the windows.

Leaving the ship. We shared the day with another ship but it was definitely not crowded.

The first stop was the Oasis Lagoon pool. It is the largest freshwater pool in the Caribbean

Next stop, Splashaway Bay...waterslides and a splash pad

Levi's very favorite of all - the pirate ship! So cute!

Harbor beach - an inlet beach with small waves

did I mention the food is included?! Such a big bonus!

Camden wanted some bigger waves, so I took him and Savannah to Chill Beach while the little boys swam in the Oasis pool

We stayed at Coco Cay from open until almost close (we had to return to get ready for dinner). It was such an awesome place to spend the day.
