Holiday World

Camden went to his first week-long Boy Scout Camp. It's something all Boy Scouts really need to do once. He had a great time. Savannah and some troop mates went to a two-night local Girl Scout camp which was the first overnight for all of them. They said it was ok overall. While the older kids were gone, we had an opportunity to go to Holiday World at a significant discount so Chris and I took the two boys.

It was all of our first time (since I was a kid, at least). We really enjoyed ourselves! We spent the night in Bloomington the night before and enjoyed Mother Bears Pizza. The next day we were off to the park. I think the waterpark was our favorite but the boys agreed this kid-sized drop ride was the best ride. They also enjoyed the free soda which was a treat.

girl scouts

This year, I started a Brownie Girl Scout troop for Savannah's grade at school. She had been apart of a troop in another elementary for two years but wasn't really making friends there. We now have 9 girls (with one joining) who have done a bunch of fun things this year! It's taken a bit of time to manage everything, but it's definitely been a fun experience.

winter activities

Winter is always a struggle to stay active while being mostly indoors. Over the years we've developed a schedule for an activity for each night. That way we aren't always defaulting to movies/video games. This year we also started "activity bingo". I made a bingo sheet and each space is a toy/activity that we own that often gets overlooked and not played with. On Wednesdays, we draw an activity and all play with it for a bit. It reminds us of some fun toys we have and will help determine if a toy needs to go later on.

Besides that, here is what else has been going on.
