Savannah at 6 years

Savannah is six years old and officially an elementary aged kid now! Her transition to school has been overall smooth and she seems to enjoy kindergarten, although she'd prefer to just stay home, I think. She's very quiet and reserved which has meant making friends is a slow process and she really only has one good friend at school (that she reports). She also has anxiety about doing any activity that isn't with a family member present, so we're working on that. She's very empathetic and concerned about others. She's a good big sister to Jonas and has been playing with him more. She prefers to be around people and never alone, so sharing a room with Camden has been a good transition. She's our most helpful child and usually the easiest to parent (she told me the other day, "I hope it's ok I just made your bed."). She'll go out of her way to help out or to make someone feel better (Chris overheard her telling Jonas he could punch her in the face to make him laugh...so sometimes she goes too far!).

Height: 47"

Weight: 60lbs

Clothing Size: 7-8 shirts!, 7 pants

Favorite Foods: she is the least picky eater in our family, willing to try most anything and likes a lot of foods

Favorite activities: crafts/art/drawing, swimming, playing with stuffed animals/babies, doing activities with other people. No longer wanted to do ballet (although she enjoyed the recitals)

Number of teeth lost: 2 (one the night before her birthday!)

Goals for this coming year:
- work on being able to attend activities events without Mom/Dad present.
- find a club/activity/sport that interests her
- continue to work on making friends at school
- adjust to being a big sister again in November

Biggest achievements this year:
- starting Kindergarten
- learning to read
- having her tonsils removed which eliminated her frequent infections and apparently cured a sleeping problem we didn't know she had! She now says she sleeps through the night (apparently she did not before), has not had night terrors, and wakes rested (whereas she used to often need time in the morning to "wake up"). So glad we had this done!

Fun Facts:
- she is always observing people and situations when we go out (Where is that boy's dad? He said he'd be right back and that was a long time ago?...Do all kids who have curly hair have parents with curly hair?)
- She comes into our room every night to ask if it is "lights out time". I think she wants Camden to turn off his lamp but doesn't want to be the "bad guy"
- She likes to spell the word "butt" on things to be funny but since we told her she needed to stop, she writes "butter" (and sometimes conveniently runs out of space for the "er")
- She seems to know where everything is, so we often go to her for help finding things
