2013 Review

I looked up my 2013 post from the start of last year.  So interesting to see what we had planned for last year!

"January is almost over and I'm mentally planning for the rest of this very BUSY year!  Here are some of the exciting events up coming:

- we have a weekend trip to Cincinnati planned for next month including a stop at IKEA so we can get cracking on some home projects (we've been planning on going there for a year).  Projects include working on Camden's big-boy room which I'm very excited about."

We really enjoyed Cincinnati (especially Entertrainment).  Then completed our closet to mudroom make over which has been the best use of space in our whole house!  We also decorated Camden's Rocket room which turned out really cute.

"- our little man turns 2 years old!  I'm thinking we'll have a small "Buzz Lightyear" party to celebrate.  I can't wait to hear all the new words he is going to say this year, he's learning so quickly!"

Camden turned 2 and we celebrated with our family and Buzz Lightyear. Now he can carry on a conversation which is really fun (although sometimes difficult to understand).  While having a two year old has it's challenges (especially now that he has to share attention with his baby sister), it's fun to hear his view of the world.

"- my brother and sister-in-law, Adam & Melanie are expecting their first baby and our first niece in early May.  Yay! (We're also working on creating a multi-faceted, co-op babysitting schedule that involves my whole family that is making all of our heads spin)"

Cece arrived in May.  I'm excited that she'll be so close in age to Savannah!  Although she seems to prefer the company of Camden more at this point.  I babysat her a few days a week August-October.

"- Chris is turning 30 this year so we'll have to celebrate with a party. Yikes, he's old."

We celebrated with a "Beer Tasting" party.  It was a lot of fun and we were so glad so many of our friends could attend.  We had so much beer left over!

"- my sister-in-law, Liz and her fiance Steve are getting married in July and both Chris and I are in the wedding!  Lots of wedding festivities planned for them already!"

What a fun wedding! We had a blast! Camden enjoyed dancing the night away : )

"- my brother, Ryan, and his fiance Nichole bumped up their wedding to August AND it will be in The Outer Banks, North Carolina.  Hooray for another destination wedding!"

Hanging out all week with family and getting to know some new people was great.  The mansion, beach, and pool were pretty cool too :)

"- my photog-partner-in-crime, Brie, is photographing both my sibling's weddings and I get to do the engagement sessions"

Brie did a great job and picked up my slack when I had Savannah.  I did get some shoots in, though.

"- We're going to Gatlingburg, TN to stay at Chris' parents time share in October with his family"

We weren't able to go since Savannah was due a couple weeks later, but we are going to join them in May this year!

"In our spare time, we'll hopefully be spending lots of time outdoors at parks/playgrounds, exploring Indianapolis with friends and family, and enjoying our time together."

Some of the fun things we did:

Super Bowl party

Easter egg hunts

Zoo with friends

we fostered some kitties

Visiting Chris in Dayton, OH while he was away on business

Sweetwater Lake with friends

Fort Wayne for 4th of July getaway

impromptu visit to Austin, TX to visit Rebecca and Lance while Chris was there on business

State Fair

lots of playing outside

Apple orchard

Halloween as Yoda (or a green bunny rabbit) with new baby sister

Christmas

"Whew, I'm exhausted already...and who knows what will happen that hasn't been planned yet! Here is to a jam-packed year that is sure to be exciting!"

We found out I was pregnant in February and Savannah joined our family in October!  What a blessing she has been!

It was a busy and awesome year for sure!

Wow how did you manage to pack so much fun into 365 days? It's a great idea to look back at all that you accomplished. What's in store for 2014??
