London/Paris - day 1&2 - Toronto and flights

When I first got into points and miles in 2018, my goal was to take our whole family to London and Paris some day. Well, that day finally arrived! After much planning it was time to head out on our longest journey yet.

We started by driving to Toronto, where I got significantly cheaper flights. We spent the night in Windsor (at the hotel we were in last year) before driving to Toronto. Since our flight was not until nearly 11pm, we stopped and bought extra pants for everyone (the weather forcast for London changed) and also enjoyed a stop at Spencer Smith Park along the lake south of Toronto.

Once at the airport, the lounge access we had came in very handy as we snacked and changed into our comfy flight clothes. Onboard, we all tried to sleep. Levi rocked sleeping upright but the rest of us hardly slept. Some were too excited about the inflight entertainment (and the midnight dinner!) and some just couldn't get comfy.

We landed in London midmorning and luckily had another post-flight lounge access where we ate snacks and freshened up. Then it we hopped on the Heathrow Express into the city. From there, we had to Uber due to rain. We checked into our hotel, The Residence Inn Tower Bridge, where we'd spend 7 nights. We made our first of many walks to the Sainsbury Local for dinner food to cook in the room. I couldn't stay awake past 5:30 and most everyone else was asleep shortly after.
