first day of school

Lots of firsts this back to school year!

Levi is starting kindergarten! He's going to Prairie Trace and will be at the same school as Jonas for a few years. He's excited and ready. Levi had a special Kindergarten orientation where they saw their classrooms, specials classes, and practiced getting hot lunches. His teacher gave him some confetti that goes under his pillow to help him sleep the night before school.

His backpack is bigger than he is but he can grow into it!

Jonas is the only kid in the same school this year. He's an old pro at elementary school at this point and gets to help show Levi the ropes.

Helpers walking the Kindergarteners into their classrooms the first week. Funny note: Levi kept saying he didn't know how to get to his classroom so Jonas had to walk him for awhile. Now he's good!

Savannah was a bit nervous about getting her locker unlocked and finding her classes, but she said it was totally fine. The school isn't too big and everything is pretty easy to find. She isn't on the same team as her old friends (there are three teams that the kids are divided into and most of their classes are with their teams) but she seems fine with it.

Savannah hasn't ridden the bus since Kindergarten.

The biggest adjustment award probably goes to Camden who will be home at 4:45pm each day! This is a big change from being home all day everyday over the last three years. He's also taking some advanced courses, so he'll be learning how to manage all of it.

Camden hasn't ridden the bus since thrid grade. He has a bit farther to walk to his bus stop.
