One of my favorite things about summer break is seeing the kids get creative (out of boredom, surely) and play make believe. This was an idea they got from the show Bluey called "rug island"
he asked to wear a mask while he mowed the patio. Cool.
I got a science curriculum on geology (the kids picked the topic) and we did a 15 lesson unit over the summer. It went pretty well and we all learned a lot (well, Jonas only learned one thing he said). Definitely on the summer list for next year.
Baba finally visited!
Setonfest this year had a ton of inflatables! So fun!
Even more inflatables at Fisher's Monsoon Madness...but these all had water. And a foam pit!
Camden got into the Wings of Fire book series and read the first five books (the sixth was on hold at the library). Since he couldn't read the sixth right away, he listened to the first four audiobooks. Levi did too.
I thought it was cute how hard he was trying to "write" during our geology lesson
mini golf with a Levi spot
State Fair!
The kids always want to do the "little hands on the farm" exhibit at the fair. I thought it was sweet that none of them felt too old for it, but then I realized they always give a snack at the end...so that might be the draw
This summer, the kids earned "star wars monopoly money" for doing some chores and their workbooks. To use the final dollars up, they "bought" cotton candy and a midway game.
