Our new home!

On Thursday, May 7 we closed on both of our houses. It was a curbside closing, so we brought the kids, put on a movie and signed our forms in our car (thanks pandemic for making closing actually fun and quick!). After having been away from people for so long, we sent Camden, Savannah, and Jonas to Chris' parents for two nights so we could get moved. Friday, the movers came and spent a full day moving all of our stuff...boy we have a lot of things! Saturday, Chris and I (and Levi) unpacked the essentials to get the house in working order. The kids joined us that evening for their first night at our new house.

What we enjoy so far in the new house:
- spacious master bath and closet
- bigger bedrooms and bigger closets
- a loft for the kids (they have toys, a couch and our N64 video game up there)
- a bigger eating area (no formal dining like our last house, but the dining area is bigger)
- a huge island with room for 4 stools and a baby seat
- a backyard that backs up to the playground, basketball courts, field and the school (although, due to the pandemic we haven't been able to enjoy that yet)
- a big covered back patio

We managed to flood the second floor down into the kitchen...twice within the first 5 days! Once was a washing machine malfunction, the other was a toilet malfunction. We also have a list of projects we want to hire out in the next couple months (adding doors to the office, carpeting the basement, bathroom in the basement, possibly a fence) and lots of little DIY projects. I bet we'll be unpacking until Christmas! It's great we have lots of free time to spend getting settled. I think it's going to be a great house!
