As quarantine drags on, the initial novelty of certain things has worn off. However, we're getting more used to this way of life. Things are starting to "open up", but we are trying to stay cautious. We're mostly home besides going outside to walk or play. One unusual good thing that has come out of all this is that we have talked to our friends and family WAY more than we used to. We've talked weekly to friends we only would talk to yearly...if that. We also are catching up with family (like my brother in California and his family) way more. I think this shows that getting together can be too tricky when everyone is busy with little kids, but we are able to cut out some time in the evening in our PJs. I hope this is something that continues in some form as time goes on.
- finding a couple new trails to walk right near our house. Both have views (or up close encounters) with the the white river and woods. It's funny we never thought to look for these trails before!
- Zoom meeting with my friends every Saturday including some pictionary games. Lots of laughs!
- Zoom meeting with our small group to catch up and pray for each other
- getting the hang of e-learing and not over stressing about it
- weekly calls with my family and Chris' family to catch up.
- getting a Meal Trains set up for various units at St. Vincent hospital. This week, some family and friends went in on a meal for a Covid Unit (Jimmy Johns) and my Carmel Mom's club agreed to fund a meal for another unit. It's just a little thing that hopefully lets the staff know we're thinking of them.
-Impromptu hike at Ft. Harrison...we saw 5 snakes, had a picnic, and got out and about. On the way home we saw Culvers...so the kids tried frozen custard for the first time

- a couple family "social distance" meet ups including seeing our newest nephew
- weekly trips to the Neon Cactus with Chris' friends (virtually of course). Chris and I are trying to sit outside on our back porch with a drink in hand
-moving to a new house! This means finding new walking paths from our house.
Blue Angels flyover from a local parking lot
meeting our nephew, Thomas
since the kids stayed two nights with my inl-laws while we moved, we all got together for mother's day
hiking on the new trail we found outside our neighborhood (Savannah was pretty sick with a UTI which is why she is wearing PJs...she was feeling well with meds so we pushed her in a stroller)
lost two front teeth!
the kids put together my "favorite things" for mother's day - necklaces (I really don't wear jewelry), a comb, a hair tie, and hand sanitizer
I bought Levi a big play pen for indoors and outdoors in case I have to step away. Everyone seems to like it.
After laughing at the idea of the "unicorn method" for cutting your own hair, I ended up trying it. It turned out fine, but I could definitely use a stylist
One of the best highlights - our friends, Nate and Amy, mentioned it would be their 10 year wedding anniversary the day after our virtual hangout at the Neon Cactus. They both said how much they enjoyed Chris' best man speech. Another friend arranged a Zoom meeting for the next night so Chris could read his speech (he still had it!) to them again on their anniversary. To add to the effect, I found a virtual background from their reception venue, Chris dressed up (on the top only...lets not do more than we need to), and we had champaign flutes with drinks to toast to the "new" couple. They really enjoyed it!
