Sunday - It was finally time for our annual trip downtown for a night at a hotel. It's something we look forward to every Christmas season. We started with Mass at St. Joan of Arc parish. We headed to the Indiana State Museum to ride the little train and check out the exhibits. From there, we got early check in at the Embassy Suites and Jonas and Eleanor took naps while the older 4 went swimming (thanks Uncle Adam for being the designated adult in the pool!). Then we walked around the mall and made our way to the circle to see the lights. We enjoyed some free snacks back at the hotel. Chris then took Camden and Savannah to the mall again to pick out a treat before we all went to bed.
Our room had a view of the Artsgarden, and I spotted Chris and the kids!
Monday (Christmas Eve) - we ate breakfast at the hotel and headed to Sullivan's Hardware store for the Sullivan's Express train ride. This year the price went up (they've added more trains and more sights) so we decided to save it this activity for Christmas Eve when they had open rides (but no Santa on site for a visit since he's busy, of course).
Family Photo after Christmas Eve Mass
We've had a wonderful month/Advent filled with tons of Christmas activities and we are looking forward to a few days of lounging around the house in PJs as we celebrate Christmas tomorrow and throughout the week with family. Christmas with young children is truly a magical time of year!
