Camden's messy room

Camden really enjoys his legos and plays with them most days. While he has lots of sets, he most often creates unique designs using a variety of pieces. Many are so intricate that whenever I try to pick them up to move them, I break them. His floor is usually COVERED in legos. Chris calls him a  "messy genius" because he gets so caught up in his thoughts and creating he just explodes stuff everywhere. Jonas walked in there with his bare little toddler feet and immediately sat down, pulling about 8 little lego pieces off of his foot.

Chris told Camden he had to clean his room before school started. He worked on it for awhile and made progress after we made a check list of items to help him focus. Then he got out all his legos to build again and we were back to square one. He told me that he offered to pay Chris $15 to clean it for him (he said, "It's only a 10 and a 5 and I have a 20!"). He routinely bribes Savannah with candy and toys to help him clean. We finally had some free hours on Sunday and we all worked to sort and organize the lego creations into sorting system he has in his closet. Camden constantly gets distracted and starts building again instead of taking things apart. I know this clean room won't last for long, but it was nice to be able to safely walk in there for once!

Another funny thing, Camden wanted a little box with small compartments to store his lego people's weaponry, which were still in little piles all over his floor after we cleaned (38 piles, to be exact). He agreed to use his own money. We got on Amazon and found one with 35 compartments that he really wanted. I showed him how Prime 2-day shipping works. He was so excited to get this container, which I thought was funny since usually only organized adults get excited about storage containers.
