The Urban Chalkboard

We had the opportunity to preview The Urban Chalkboard in Carmel (it officially opened on Friday).  Camden and Savannah ended up being the very first "test kids"...and they got right to work testing everything! It is essentially a cafe/play area/learning environment all in one. The owners are both PhD child psychologists, so they know what toys and activities are great for kids!  Parents can sit down and sip on coffee while their kids play (I can't think of any other place in the Indy area with the same concept). It's an open room, so you can see your kids playing no matter where they are.  Even the studio rooms have glass walls. They are also planning to have a variety of classes/events scheduled through out the week. Today, Camden got to test out the kids yoga class...how fun! It definitely got a thumbs up from my kids and I know we'll be back (within moderation since there is an entry fee)! You can check it out, too http://www.theurbanchalkboard.com/

Savannah sat on the yoga mat all on her own. Guess she wanted to participate, too!

I was glad Camden gave yoga a try!

We have tons of play cafes in Columbus, and my kids love them! So great for the winter. I wonder where they first originated? I know Columbus has had one since 2010. We will have to check it out sometime when we are back in Indy. And how did you guys get to be the testers? That's neat!

We went to a preview day with my Mom's Club. It is a really smart idea, maybe more of these will pop up (and hopefully be cheaper!)
