Chris' 30th Birthday Party

I really wanted to have a party for Chris' 30th birthday.  It's a great excuse to get our friends together!  I decided to have a beer tasting theme.  All the guests were asked to bring a 6 pack of a specific beer.   The idea was that everyone could taste small amounts of a large variety of beers and find out which ones they liked or didn't like. We had 8 categories of beer to be included in the tastings (including one for miscellaneous and one for root beer).  Everyone brought A LOT of beer and we were handing out 12 packs as parting gifts by the end of the night!  We had about forty adults and seven kids attend.  We had a wonderful time and were so grateful so many of our friends and family took time out of their schedule to come and hang out with us.

As ususal, I forgot to take pictures during the party, but I have some of the set up.

This is the invite I made in Word and the beer tasting score card:

Setting up ladder golf and the kid zone

All the food was easy to make, but I did spend extra time on the 3 beer-flavored cupcakes: Guinness, Blue Moon, and Corona.

The stations were set up like this:

These are some of the tasting cards that I found after the party.  Some of the comments are funny : )

We had a "Know Your Light Beer?" blind tast test.  People generally did poorly getting mostly 1 out of 3 correct.  I guess light beer all tastes the same!

I did take a couple photos outside during the party

Next time I'll make a point to take some photos!
