Rockford , IL

It has been awhile since we had visited some of my extended family, so we organized a little trip to Rockford, Illinois to see my dad's brother, Uncle Ken, and his family.  His home is very unique and includes a garage man-cave with 10 home brewed beers on tap (including root beer!), a pool, a  meat smoker, a four-wheeler, and a dock onto the river...we explored all of these things!

We stopped half way to spend the night at a hotel.  We went to the mall, out to dinner, and swimming.  Camden got to ride the cart, too.

The next day, we completed the drive to Rockford where we met up with the rest of my family.
Before we arrived, we decided we were going to try out shooting guns since neither Chris or I had ever done that before.  After a little gun saftey course, we were ready to shoot!

This picture does not do it justice, but a lot of effort went into making Millionaire Bacon (the recipe was taken from a food network bacon episode)
