Our Professor took us on a walking tour of part of London this morning when we got to class. Then we learned a little bit about British history (since we dont learn much in school growing up).
We walked over to the Tate Modern, a museum of modern art. It was basically a huge building filled with bizarre things they call modern art. I really dont think I appreciate modern art fully because I just couldnt figure out why a big painted square on a canvas was particularly fascinating. I did enjoy seeing the pieces I had learned about before in Humanities, though. We also passed Shakespeare Globe Theatre (its a new one). Today was also the first time I felt London rain, although it didnt cool off the air very much.
I really wanted to do something to celebrate the 4th of July, so we went to a bar called Belushis. They had drink specials and foot long hotdogs in celebration. Everyone was watching the World Cup Football Game, so I joined in. I got a quick tutorial from a Scottish fellow and we hung out there until it was time to take the Tube back. Happy 4th of July! I hope you all went to see fireworks tonight!
