First day of school (7-3-06)

Today we finally found out what our class will be like. Usually we will take the Underground to class in the morning and then have a field experience/field trip in the afternoon. There is usually time after that to explore the city.
We got our passes for the Underground today so that we can travel almost anywhere in the city fairly easily. Just mind the gap!
After class, Teresa and I decided to take the Underground all the way to Wimbledon to see if we could get a glimpse of the Tennis Championship games. After realizing we did not want to pay 11 pounds or wait in the longest line in history to get in, we took the Underground back. From what I saw from the other side of the fence, the Wimbledon tennis courts are very lovely (and popular!).
After Wimbledon, we came back the area around Nutford and tried out a Pub. Some friendly old English bloke suggested we try Pimms. It was a fruity summer drink and it was an excellent choice. Some other Irishmen next to us said we had American teeth and Eastern European laughs...whatever that means. We chatted for a while and then headed home for the night. Tomorrow is class; no 4th of July celebrations around here, I bet. Maybe we will find somewhere to celebrate tomorrow night. Goodnight!
