Coronavirus social distancing - days 1-4

Well, 2020 has already turned out to be an unusual year. In February, we were hearing about a new virus (a new coronavirus) in China that eventually spread to the United States and, as of this week in March, is causing a National Emergency. Our schools are closed. Public places are closed. We are all suppose to stay at home for the time being to reduce the spread of the virus. At this time we don't know how many people will be infected, how badly they'll be sick, or how long we'll have to disrupt our daily lives. This will be interesting for sure!

When I first started hearing word of the spread, I started making some plans on how we would cope with possible quarantine. In one evening, many changes happened rapidly leading us to cancel most of our plans for the rest of the month (3 weeks). Once I heard the schools would be closed, I started coming up with a daily schedule and plan and looking into ways to supplement our education and, now abumdant, free time.

Here are some photos from the first 4 days (prior to us starting e-learning):

- Facebook livestream video of a book and information from a shark conservatory
- Cosmic Kids yoga
- homemade bread (tasted good, looked bad)
- finished reading Camden and Savannah "Matilda"
- learning through Scholastic website
- Map making class for both kids through Outschooled (this one was really cool)
- nightly stories read by Josh Gad (aka Olaf)
