Once the boys returned, we headed to Animal Kingdom Lodge for our dinner reservation at Sanaa. We first stopped to view the savanna from some of the vantage points from the resort...so cool! There are African savanna animals right on property (gazelle, giraffe, various birds, etc). I requested a table by the window, and we were lucky to get one! I wanted to go there to try their famous bread service which includes five varieties of naan and nine dipping sauces. It was delicious! The kids got more traditional kids meals that included a cool dessert where you paint your own African shield (cookie) with paint (colored liquid icing). The best part - Jonas was entertained by looking out the window so we had a halfway quiet meal. Maybe if we could always sit next to the African savanna we could go out to eat with him more!
I had packed our swim suits so we could try the pool at Kadani village where Sanna was located (note: we swam in several Disney pools which is not actually allowed, but we did not get any pushback or have any issues, we really wanted to see which resorts we might want to stay at in the future). We enjoyed ten minutes there before lightening was in the area and it had to close. We took the opportunity to walk a long distance to Jambo House, the neighboring part of the resort, to check out the lobby and pool over there. It has a huge zero entry pool (which was also closed) and a fun little playground and flamingos. The grounds at Animal Kingdom are truly stunning. Since my sandals were still trapped by the pool back at Kadani Village, we headed over to see if I could ask to retrieve them. To our surprise, the pool was just reopening so we were able to enjoy the awesome splash area for about ten more minutes before it had to close again.
