Disney World - Day 1 - Beach Club Resort

We finally were off to our long awaited Disney World trip! The next several posts will be details of the trip so that we can look back and remember all the adventures we had. The photos are a combination of pictures from my Iphone, my camera, and the photos taken by Disney photographers.

On Friday, we took a morning flight out of Indy to Orlando. Although this trip included our family of five, my brother's family of five, and my parents, we were the only ones arriving on Friday. After the plane ride and Magical Express bus ride, we checked in to the Beach Club which was our first hotel. Our room wasn't ready and our luggage hadn't been delivered but I had packed swim gear in our carry on. We grabbed a pool-side lunch before heading for a swim. The kids all loved the sand bottom pool that also had piles of sand for digging inside of it. We then explored other parts of the pool before heading over to the pirate ship slide. Only Chris and I were brave enough to try the slide, but Camden and Savannah found a smaller slide that the each tried about 15 times.

After the pool, we were able to head to our room. I totally forgot to take any photos of our room, but it was a studio villa. We decided to go to the on-site ice cream shop called Beaches and Cream. While they're known for the kitchen sink (a literal sink filled with ice cream and treats), we all just got ice cream and ate it poolside. After our snack, we walked down to the boardwalk which is a short walk from the hotel. We decided to take a little ferry boat back to the Beach Club area when we were done.

Camden and Savannah took turns on the table that pulls out into a bed. Since Jonas was asleep in our room, he had to read with a headlamp
