We went in for my induction on 1/31 at 5:30am as planned. Things went fairly smoothly and quickly with some concerns about my heart going into an arrhythmia (it didn't) and how they would handle it if it did (apparently it is not a common issue and we had to go over a "worse case scenario" plan a few times). Jonas was also born face up (suppose to be face down, but not a big deal) and with his umbilical cord around his neck. The doctor and nurse figured he had something like that was going on due to his reaction to contractions, but they kept a close eye on him and let me proceed and luckily he was able to be born naturally without any issues after birth.

 He was awake for an hour or so after being born and has had short wakeful periods since then. He loves to have his hands by his face or hold onto something. He seems to be nursing good so far as long as I wake him up to remind him.

My mom brought our kids up to meet him on his first day. They were both excited to see him finally (although his bellybutton was a bit freaky). Unfortunately, we managed to stay healthy all winter but now Savannah has a constant hacking cough and cold symptoms, so we'll be trying to spend most of the rest of winter not getting ourselves or baby sick.

I'm so glad to finally be able to snuggle him and his sweet little face. Such a blessing and we can't wait to bring him home!
