St. Patrick's Day

We usually don't do much to celebrate St. Patrick's day besides wearing green. This year, the holiday fell on days where we didn't have much going on and the weather was pretty good, so we celebrated a little more.

We headed to the canal to watch it turn green. I brought a picnic dinner and we were lucky that Chris and my brother's family were able to meet up with us. The canal turns really fluorescent green, pretty bizarre.

On St. Patrick's Day morning I made some green pancakes. While they were eating, I ran to the bathroom only to return to see an empty bottle of syrup and two plates FILLED with syrup. I arrived right before they decided to pour it into their mouths like a drink. I guess that's one way to celebrate!

Then, I took the kids to the parade. Their favorite parts were the motorcycles and the free candy handouts (which was unexpected). I felt like it'd be hard to compare any parade to the Disney parades we saw last fall, but Chris said Camden told him he really liked it so I guess they were still impressed. And the candy helped.

we played for  a few minutes at the central library on our way to the parade
