the big 3-0

Well, I've entered another decade in my life....the thirties! Chris kindly offered to throw me a party for my birthday this year even though party planning is not really his thing. I decided I'd like to instead go to a hotel in downtown Indy and just hang out with any friends who could join.

I was glad that several friends and all our siblings joined us for dinner at the Weber Grill in Indianapolis. Following dinner we spent a couple hours hanging out and playing games at the Omni Severin where we had a loft suite. I had originally book a hotel on Hotwire (you don't know the name of the hotel until you pay for it) and ended up at the Omni. Luckily, we could walk indoors and out of the rain to the restaurant through the skywalks so the location was great! I wanted a bigger room, though, so I was able to get an upgrade to a loft suite for a very reasonable price.

When it got later, a few of us walked to a couple nearby bars and returned to the room to crash. It was a nice celebration. We'll be having a big group celebration of our thirtieth birthdays in Gulf Shores in two weeks....stay tuned!
