Niagara Falls trip - Maid of the Mist & Cave of the Winds

 The only "must do" we had for our trip was Maid of the Mist. Since you enter at Niagara Falls Park on the US side, we also decided to do Cave of the Winds which is in the same park. We were glad we did both because we were able to get so close to the falls! Maid of the Mist takes you right into horeshoe falls on the Canadian side and Cave of the Winds is right next to the American Falls including bridal veil falls. A true highlight of the trip!

Thankfully, the Maid of the Mist comes with ponchos which are very necessary! The boat leaves from the American side and goes quite close to horseshoe falls.

The Cave of the Winds was our next stop. This was a bit of a walk from the Maid but still on the American side. We were given ponchos again (again, very necessary) and took elevators down to the base of the falls. Then we walked on wooden decks around the falls getting up close. Very cool!
