I spy

I started thinking awhile back that a video baby monitor might be a nice thing to have.  We find ourselves wondering what the heck Camden is doing in his crib sometimes.  The other night I put him to bed and it sounded like he was building a fort (keep in mind he has nothing besides himself in his crib) until he fell asleep.  He also recently went through a brief phase where he would sit up in the middle of the night while still asleep and get stuck that way until we came to lay him back down.  Without a camera to see in his room, I had to guess from the sounds he was making if he needed help or not.  I figured it will be even useful as he gets older and starts escaping from his crib/bed and when he starts transitioning out of naps.

So we bought one! We continue to use our Sony Babycall for audio purposes because it works so well.  Now we can watch him on our smart phones or home computer when we want to see if he's asleep and what he's doing.  It works over are home wifi but there is an option we haven't figured out yet where we could sign in and see him on our phone even when we're at work or not home.  I would love that!

This makes me regret having ever watched the movie Paranormal Activity (actually, I regretted it as soon as I finished watching it).
