Our plan today was to go to the huge breakfast buffet again and then hit the pool and beach. When we got to the beach, we signed up to come back at noon to kayak in the ocean. To bide time, we walked along the beach examining the shells that washed up continuously. On our way out, Chris decided to purchase three small items from one of the beach vendors. It was very exciting when Chris bartered by giving the vendor ten dollars (less than his final, lowest price) and a box of Count Chocula cereal. The vendor may have been humoring us…or he may have really wanted some chocolaty cereal. We then swam around the large free form pool and people watched.
At noon, we returned to the beach and got into a two-person kayak. Leaving the beach was the hardest part, since we had to point the nose straight into the waves. Once we were out into the ocean a bit, it was easy to paddle around. We got a nice view of the shore and the neighboring beaches. We rode the waves back in and had a crash landing into the sand.
Chris really wanted to do a couples massage while we were on our honeymoon, so we visited the spa. We each got a fifty minute massage in the same room that overlooked the golf course. We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing since our muscles were mush.
We ate dinner at Finasela, an Italian restaurant. The food was wonderful and very filling.
This is the typical diet of a Costa Rican. We are big fans of their version of rice and beans.
