I just finished 6 months of using clear teeth aligners from
Candid Co.. I was really nervous to not go with a traditional orthodontist and Invisalign, but the price difference was astounding ($5,500 for Invisalign or traditional braces vs. $1,800 for Candid...and NO appointments). I ended up giving Candid a try and was overall very happy. I chose Candid because of both the price and that the treatment plan is completed by an orthodontist (mine was actually the founder of the company and has an office in Texas). Some of the other companies are more vague about who creates the treatment plan. It makes me wonder if this is possibly the future for teeth alignment for busy adults who can't afford the time it takes for traditional orthodontic appointments or the huge expense. You have to be approved for treatment, so complicated cases would not be able to be treated in this method. My dentist did say he thinks there may be some cracking down on this practice (orthodontists are not a fan) in the future, so I guess it's good I got it done now.
I wore each aligner for 2 weeks for a total of 12 aligners over 6 months followed by a retainer that I must wear every night for the rest of my life. While it was annoying to worry about these every time I ate and sometimes painful, my teeth are much straighter now and hopefully will stay that way!
Before (these are some of the photos I had to submit to Candid to get approved for treatment. This was in addition to 3 sets of impressions of my teeth I sent in. Sorry, they are a bit gross). My main focus was getting the "wonky" tooth on the right to tuck in and also straightening my middle bottom four teeth. I feel like the photos don't really show the changes as well as in person.

After:
4 bottom middle teeth were crooked, now straight
the tooth on the right was way pushed out, now the front teeth are aligned
the "wonky" tooth
