In July, we noticed a little leak under our kitchen sink. The next day, our kitchen looked like a the scene of a contagious virus isolation with loud fans and floor to ceiling plastic wrapping. A section of our kitchen floor (hardwood) needed replaced which ultimately met ALL the hardwood needed replaced. Since our main floor carpeted areas are 15 years old and in in poor shape, we ended up replacing the majority of our main floor flooring (both the wood and carpet) just to get it all done at once. After that finally completed, our oak cabinets looked terrible against the new floors (they were outdated and worn before, anyways). Chris debated about painting it all himself (pregnant people aren't suppose to paint so I couldn't help), but after realizing the massive amount of time it would take, we opted to hire it out. In the end our main floor got a HUGE makeover. Despite it being a bit of a burden for a couple months, we are very lucky our insurance covered the majority the cost, which seemed crazy to me!'

I wanted a crisp, clean white cabinets and a grey island. The lady that painted everything suggested black instead of grey to pull from our existing counters so we did that. I feel like it looks more updated and fresh now.
