Ballykissangel (7-22-06)

Somehow we managed to drag ourselves out of bed this morning (after all of us slept through both alarms). Matt, Teresa, and I joined an all-day bus ride into Wicklow County. It was a beautiful ride through the misty mountains and plains. We got out to take photos and eat in the town of Avoca where they filmed the series Ballykissangel. My roommate, Stephanie, and Matt used to watch that show all the time, so I was glad we got to see where it was filmed. We made it back that evening and decided to do something really authentically Irish?we saw the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie and ate McDonalds. At least it helped with the homesickness. Walking home, we got extremely lost in the ?Bronx? of Dublin (that?s what the taxi driver related it to). We eventually made it back and had some tea and biscuits before bed.

British word of the day:
Crisps ? meaning chips. Example: ?Eat some crisps with your sandwich.? In response to my last word of the day, chips, Matt informed me that chips are French fries and crisps are chips. So all the confusion that I imagined would occur in the grocery store, doesn?t exist. Now you can all rest easy.
